Summary/Abstract: The concern of elderly people and theirs caring needs is elaborated in this paper. The aging process for humanity has led to the shift of typical structure towards the old population pattern. In 2030, according to the Polish Central Statistical Office, 800,000 Poles will reach the age of 85 and more, whereas the health state of humanity is worsening with age, i.e. chronic diseases, disabilities. Family and relatives provide support for elderlies, but they may not follow up with nursing duties all the time, because it collides with theirs family and professional life, as well as residential place. Informal support networks, friends and neighbours supportthe family or relatives in the provision of nursing services. People requiring all-day care as a result of age, disease or disability pursue the services of nursing homes. The aging process for humanity and small changes in the quantity of multi-municipal nursing homes has leads to still significant number of people expecting for location in such nursing homes. Nursing concerns of elderly people currently require a search for new institutional and organisational solutions, as well as another insight into the concern of the aging society.
