Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the relationship between the UK and the European Unionchronologically from the post-war period to the present day. The economic, political and strategic aspects of this relationship are taken into account. Commented are the political sentiments of the United Kingdom, public opinion in the contest of the first integration wave.
