Summary/Abstract: The paper “Kurtfritz Handel (1941–2016). In memoriam” is aiming at paying homage and presenting the life and art of an outstanding sculptor, who pastaway last year. He was a student at the Art Institute “Ion Andreescu” in Cluj-Napoca and in the aftermath teacher at several schools in Sibiu. Before 1985, when he leftRomania for Germany, Kurtfritz Handel who also was a member of the Union of Plastic Artists, organized several exhibitions and was commissioned important works.In 2007, when Sibiu became European Capital of Culture, an important exhibition was shown in Sibiu, demonstrating that he had made great progress in more than 20 yearsof absence from Romania.
