Summary/Abstract: With the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of the First World War, Czechs and Slovaks united to form Czechoslovakia. Since the Slovaks were more interested in agriculture, the Czechs kept hold of heavy industry. Skoda arms and automobile factories had a significant place within this powerful industrial structure of Czechoslovakia. Turkey had tried to acquire military equipments from countries such as Czechoslovakia, Germany, France, Russia, Italy, England and the Netherlands for its land, naval and air armament between the two world wars. Connections had been made with Czechoslovakia especially for cannon and cannon ammunition manufactured in Skoda Arms Factory. The Government of Turkey had purchased various arms and ammunitions from Skoda Arms Factory at different dates from 1923 to 1939. This arms trade made conclusion of a number agreements between Skoda Company and the Government of Turkey inevitable. In the context of these agreements, as Turkish officers visited Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovakian mentors visited Turkey. Although some problems were experienced between the government and the company, the relationships continued until 1939.With this study, although the amounts of weapons and ammunition cannot be determined in detail due to arms sales being kept confidential, the existence of the trade and the problems it had encountered have been manifested. This study makes use of the Prime Ministry Republic Archives, books, articles and periodicals.
