Summary/Abstract: This study dealt with one of the important performers of Turkish cello history, Şerif Muhiddin Targan’s education, that he received before and after the period of building Republic of Turkey from the ashes of a ruined state, his overseas experiences, combining cello techniques with oud, concerts, pieces that were performed at these concerts, problems in his community and his meeting with Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This study is qualified to be an important source that can be useful for cello students from young generations.
