Summary/Abstract: The main objective of this article is to present in the analytical discussion the challenges of financial motivation and human resources provision of the foreign trade representations of Bulgarian companies in Romania in view of the growing volume of Bulgarian exports to our northern neighbour and the already obvious disruption with the convergence of both countries compared to the EU28 average. As a result of the survey, it is established that as of 2018 there is a disruption in key indicators between the economies of Bulgaria and Romania. Our northern neighbour has already reached the level of 2/3 GDP per capita (in PPPs) compared to the EU28 average, while Bulgaria remains at 49% of GDP per capita. It is further established that due to the existence of a maximum insurance threshold in Bulgaria, unlike the abolition of one in Romania, it is more advantageous to post Bulgarian staff (up to 6 months) to provide human resources to Bulgarian trade representations in Romania, than to hire a local one. At basic levels of gross pay, financial motives and advantages for international labour mobility from Bulgaria in Romania are proven.
