Summary/Abstract: The author thoroughly investigates the individual segments of the political profile of Dr. Anton Korošec, one of the leading Slovene politicians in Yugoslavia in the 1918-40 period (autonomous Slovene movement, Catholicism, Christian-social organizations, the Catholic political party). Korošec advocated Slovenes' national autonomy within the framework of a Yugoslav state since the latter's interests were of his prime concern. A pragmatic politician and a master of parliamentary tactics, Korošec was elected member of a number of Yugoslav governments. Within a religioulsy heterogenous state he could implement in state politics his own and his party's views of the world to a limited extend only.
