Summary/Abstract: In the autumn of 1944, at the territory of Serbia taken by partisans, the firsts (after)war units of National militia, subordinated to local national boards, were formed. Even though military structure had already existed with a similar purpose (the corps of national defense of Yugoslavia), in this way inner affairs of the country gained a new formation for general needs. National militia was largely a military formation that depended on other formations from the security apparatus of the new country. Various problems of National militia were especially emphasized: shortage of material and other means for performing duties of public security. One of the militia’s key problems - education of personnel in this period was more than prominent. The steps for establishment of the National militia education system were taken only in the later phases of its development.
