Summary/Abstract: Achieving a better quality of life is a goal of policies and social services for people with disabilities. This report presents results from a study of the influence of gender, type of service and type of disability on self-assessment of the quality of life of 93 people with disabilities. A quality of life questionnaire, which has been tested on a smaller group of people, is developed. The reliability coefficient (Cronbach‘s Alpha) is 0.894. Two-factor and one-factor dispersion analyzes have been conducted to study the above factors influence on the quality of life self-assessment and the service impact on it. The results show that the type of service has a statistically significant influence on self-assessment of support and security, while gender and type of service have a statistically significant influence on different areas of the persons’ assessments of the service impact on their quality of life. An influence of the type of disability is identified, which needs further study. The research has a practical applicability to providing support for adults with disabilities in community-based services, focusing the self-assessment of quality of life, the impact of services on the quality of life, and the factors that influence this self-assessment. The results can contribute to increase the effectiveness of the social support provided for this vulnerable group of people.
