Reflections of the collective memory in cultural itineraries of Iasi

Summary/Abstract: This article will examine the collective memory projections revealed in cultural itineraries of Iasi, with the aim to discover the places that marked the ”collective and emotional memory” of Iasi. Following this aim, we will identify traces of collective memory in historical monuments and figures, institutions and museums of Iasi and others, which, by way of theirsignificance in community life, have contributed to the consolidation of the common identity and collective memory of the community. We will analyze the geographical map of Iasi, with the intention to cut out the imagological projections of Iasi in habitants, their spirit imprinted on the monuments of art, in the architecture of the city, in markets and boulevards. We will see how documents of collective memory, of cultural memory have gathered over time in the writings of the publicists, prose writers and theatre characters, each author cultivating my thology of an own Iasi, which he communicates, with more or less talent toposterity.
