Summary/Abstract: Moving towards a Knowledge-based economy is an important factor for improving national economics condition. Innovation is regarded as one of major pillars for moving towards a knowledge-based economy. This study considers the condition of efficiency of different channels impacting upon the direction towards developing a knowledge-based economy. In this respect, the various efficiency channels, namely human capital, technology, market specialization, innovative outputs, economic growth and competitiveness all of which speed economic growth and shape the knowledge-based economy. This paper studies each of these individual channels and will analyses them considering both their strengths and weaknesses. In the final part, outcomes and managerial recommendations will be presented.
