Summary/Abstract: Changes in the system of higher education resulted in introducing two stage system of education and caused changes in setting teaching goals of Russian at university. According to the author, setting general linguistic goals and general non-linguistic goals for the intermediate level of Business Language is the most appropriate . Not only can they be modified in reference to different teaching conditions but also to various university graduation dates. In the present article the author also describes educational results, taking into consideration knowledge level, language skills and a social competence of a student. The author refers to CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) and also to Common National Framework of Reference in order to describe precisely their range.
