Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present a brief outline of the issues related to the tolerance relation in lattice theory. Therefore, the concept of lattice and the concept of tolerance relation, which can be treated as generalization of equivalence relations, are discussed. Also indicated are the main connections between these concepts and the basic concepts of universal algebra.
