Summary/Abstract: A semiotic approach in the description of history is connected with the issue of discourse. The aim of traditional history is to state the cause-and-effect connections between the facts and events. Contrary to the research in narrative history, all the aspects of described events, such as social background, life conditions, traditions etc. are the subject of historic research in semiotics. Semiotic history defines the forms of connections between events and facts, as well as a semiotic character of events and historic reality.
