Summary/Abstract: The financial crisis and the pandemic have introduced crucial changes in theEuropean economy. Europe is facing problems with a single view of ways to overcome the difficulties.The development of information and communication technologies (ICT) is essential for Europe'scompetitiveness in the increasingly digital global economy. More than € 20 billion from the EuropeanRegional Development Fund (ERDF) is available for investment in ICT in the 2014-2020 fundingperiod. This investment is needed to meet the Commission's European target for the digital age.Through its new industrial strategy, Europe aims to ensure the health of European companies so thatthey can achieve their ambitions and face global competition
