Summary/Abstract: The lyrical and natural realism was shaped in the period of Interwar Art, by processing the Impressionist influences. As Ioan Isac has proven, during that time the role of artists was to maintain the balance between tradition and innovation. This task was fulfilled by taking an original approach while keeping up with the development of the European and the Universal art. Ioan Isac is one of the artists that integrated into his artworks diverse landscapes of the Banat landscapes, as well as different scenes of the villages and the rural lifestyle. In Ioan Isac’s artworks, the Banat villages appear in a very original manner. Also, he is particularly known for his focus on the drawings and the efficient coordination of the chromatic frame – which creates the entire atmosphere. Thus, Ioan Isac is contributing to the advancement of the entire generation of artists ‘born’ during his time.
