Summary/Abstract: The article assesses the intentions of building permanent American bases in Poland in terms of actions taken by the West for strategic deterrence and stabilization of the situation of international security. The analysis of actions taken by the United States after the annexation of the Crimea to maintain security on the territory of Europe. The NATO-Russia agreement of 1997 was evaluated in terms of the current conditions of the international security environment. The pros and cons of the location of American bases in the territory of Poland are presented.
