Bulgarian Participations in the Venice Biennale in 1942, 1948 and 1964

Summary/Abstract: The article presents three Bulgarian participations in the Venice Bi-ennale: in 1942 in the conditions of Italian fascism, and in 1948 and 1964 during the communist rule in Bulgaria. The main interest is focused on the impact of the political conjuncture on the selection of the Bulgarian collections and their connections with or isolation from the general characteristics of the three editions of the art forum.
