Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the determinants of entrepreneurial intentions of university students from Romania and Republic of Moldova. The findings indicate that the entrepreneurial background of the family had influenced the decision to start a business for the students that already have a business but is not an influencing factor for the decision to launch a business in the future. In what concerns education the results indicate that students that took entrepreneurship course have a stronger desire to become entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurial context is not a factor that favors the decision to start a business in neither of the two countries.
