Summary/Abstract: Allyson Grey, who draws attention among contemporary artists, often uses square shapes in her paintings and creates unique geometric shapes with these square shapes. To understand how these original geometric shapes that are the characteristic of Grey’s paintings be formed and to determine their historical significance, it is aimed to analyze the artist's paintings. In parallel with this purpose, the information obtained through the qualitative research method about geometric shapes and Grey's paintings were presented in two main chapters. In the first chapter of this research, the place of geometric shapes in the art of painting was explained. In the second chapter, Grey’s unique geometric shapes were exemplified in terms of form, technique, and artistic expression. As a result, it is observed that geometric shapes exist as a part of the history since prehistoric times in the art of painting and they have an important role in the composition of painting since Ancient Egypt. It is understood that Grey portrays infinity and ensures the continuity of the artistic creation through thousands of years old geometric shapes. Besides, it is thought that this research would be an important source for future researches, because of not enough evidence about Allyson Grey’s art in Turkish.
