The Moral Philosophy of Adam Smith: an Adequate Basis of „the Wealth of Nations“

Summary/Abstract: This study attempts to show that Adam Smith made important and interesting contributions to moral philosophy, which forms the basis of his political economy. It maintains the position that there is no contradiction or discrepancy between Smith's ideas in these areas of knowledge, representing the two main elements of his system. The study shows that the harmonious relationship between ethics and economics, we find in Smith can serve as an example and a corrective of modern proponents of positive economics.
