The importance of identifying negative psycho-behavioral characteristics in the field of defense information

Summary/Abstract: Through the nature and the specificity of activities carried out in the defense intelligence field, the personnel often has to be in the middle of people and in permanent contact with them. Some circumstances imply empirical assessment of mental state for the people encountered, either to identify the accuracy of the information received, or to avoid the fl awed perception and inadequate interpretation of an individual’s behavior under special circumstances. Hence, the need to possess enriched and diverse psychological knowledge, psycho-social interacting abilities, skills and aptitudes meant to facilitate accomplishment of specific tasks. Most of the people succeed in coping with societies’ expectations because their personality is such structured to tackle the requirements. Yet, there are other individuals who, although not manifesting obvious psychiatric symptoms, seem to be insufficiently equipped with behavioral patterns able to help them successfully integrate in the society and are incapable of dealing with various obstacles in life. Their sufferance is included in the personality disorder category.
