Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt of the analysis of the ethnogenetic myths preserved in the Yezidi folklore. A special focus is made on the third, previously unknown version of the Yezidi origin. The latter was found in a text written down in the 40s of the last century in Armenia. It is particularly interesting that the legend reveals an obvious parallel with one the Shahnamehʼs story lines. Among the specific features of the text is the unique use of the term “Ezdistan”.
