Piano Cycles of Milko Kolarov

Summary/Abstract: This article’s publication marks the 75th anniversary of the eminent Bulgarian composer Milko Kolarov. Two of his piano cycles are analyzed here: “Fairytale Paths” (1986) and “Lyrics” (2012). Interpretation solutions are proposed, based on their stylistic features. Both their artistic and applied value are emphasized as well – the possibilities for their performance at an independent concert, or as an illustrative background in literary readings.
