
The journal Annals of the West University of Timisoara – Law Series is a periodical comprehensive publication in law, biannually published, edited by the Faculty of Law, West University of Timisoara. The journal is structured according to sections that reflect the scientific work of several valuable professors in the field of private law and public law, plus the contributions of doctoral students or other young researchers.
Scientific events organized by the Faculty of Law, West University of Timisoara, as well as events marking the recognition of the scientific activity of its academic body, such as awards and distinctions, are also presented within the pages of the journal. Moreover, the journal’s content reflects the achievements of the Doctoral School within the Faculty of Law, West University of Timisoara.
The editorial team consists of professors specialized in the fundamental fields of law. A body of specialists ensures a comprehensive overview of the studies received for publication.

The Great Union and the completion of the process of establishing the Romanian unitary national state represented a decisive moment in the modernization, occidentalization and development of Romanian law in the spirit of its traditions. In the 100 years since then, he has undergone great transformations in line with historical developments, presenting himself today as a complex legal system facing the challenges of European integration and the assertion of globalization.Thus, a multidimensional radiography of the state of Romanian law is required, by identifying the founding principles, the traits and the defining evolutions, the establishment of connections and interdependencies with European Union law, the influences of comparative law and the metamorphoses due to the impact of globalization.
More...The review’s aim is to be a useful tool not only for insolvency practitioners and for the members of The National Union of Insolvency Practitioners in Romania, but also for other jurists (like lawyers or judges) and company managers that face insolvency, bankruptcy or liquidation procedures, both at national level and international.
It contains both practical and scientific studies, written by practitioners, as well as by law professors.
“Pro Lege” is a review open to studies, articles, comments, analyses, opinions and researches dedicated to institutions dealing in criminal law, criminal procedural law, forensics, criminology, judicial statistics, and in other fields relating to the Public Ministry’s activity.
The review also publishes theoretical syntheses on judicial practice, as well as Romanian and European jurisprudence, together with advisory or critical notes, considered from a scientific viewpoint.
At the same time, the review publishes legislative updates together with conclusive considerations, summaries of works of famous foreign authors, restitutions of works made by our ancestors, the glass case of the judicial book, as well as other various works of interest under the column “Miscellany”.
Therefore the magazine offers its readers very valuable and paramount ideas and theories, opinions and viewpoints, scientific researches and interesting practical applications.
The purpose of our magazine is to form a modern and coherent environment of legal debate, connected to comparative law and annually themed under the emblem of a Romanian private law key person. All the published materials benefit from extended abstracts in English and French; at the request of the editorial staff, materials entirely drafted in an international auxiliary language are also programmed to appear.
More...The Romanian Environmental Law Review was primarily issued in 2003, standing thus for a well-established review. It is a biannual publication that brings together a scientific committee made up of esteemed professors from Universities in Romania, France, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Brazil, Canada. The purpose of the review is to establish a legal debate framework on the particularly ruling theme of environmental protection, thus addressing firstly to environmental law professionals, but also to practitioners and theorists in other branches of law, the environmental law being related to many of them. The Director of the review is Prof. Mircea Duţu, Ph.D., an undeniable figure in the field, President of the Ecological University of Bucharest and of the Romanian Environmental Law Association (ARDM) equally, as well as member of relevant international bodies in the field. With issue no. 1/2008, the review has set new standards in quality: it comprises articles written in English and French by foreign contributors, as well as translations into these languages of articles written in Romanian; there are brought forward domestic and foreign representative works and illustrative scientific events; also, there is kept a close check on developments in Community legislation and the EC Court of Justice case-law in the field of environmental law.

Within the legal development of Romania over the last three decades, an important role has been played by jurisprudence through its major contribution to the configuration of the new Romanian law. The great stages of this process - from the legislative transition, with the adoption of the new Constitution (1991), the implications of the Euro-Atlantic integration and the adoption and implementation of the new codes - included the contribution of the conclusions of the judicial practice, which brought clarifications and absolutely necessary specifications. Irrespective of its form of manifestation - constitutional, conventional, European Union or national - jurisprudence has become today a decisive factor in the restructuring of the legal phenomenon, moreover: it can be said that today jurisprudence is the one that not only accompanies but also determines, a significant measure of substantive transformations of legal consciousness, indicating the entry of Romanian law into a new age.
