In the path of development of the archives in the Republic of Macedonia the service takes a significant role, by practicing its activities and jurisdictions on field on behalf of the sector for inspection surveillance and preservation of the archive material held by the owners. Achieving their duties many of the law acts have been changed on behalf of the employees of the service and the sector in the past. in the minutes of the organizational structure and placement names were adopted to changes by the composition or the ways of work, but the goal more or less was always intact. the main goal was the maximal preservation and protection of the documentation materials made by the owners, or that the same materials are handled by the state archive under their jurisdiction. of course there was a lot of misguidance and anomalies through the years, but the employees in the sector have a lot of achievements to brag about because behind they have thousands of archive funds and gave expert advice and aid to the employees in the archives. The challenge of the sector also includes the new law for inspection surveillance which changes the approach of the inspection services and requires continuity of the preservation and expert consulting. The rejuvenation of the work force, the hard evaluation of their duties, changing the relation with the field inspectors, selection of the most skilled workers which can contribute in fulfilling their work tasks is a very significant change. The persons that will be chosen for the inspector job positions should be aware of the consequences by accepting or rejecting it (if the freedom of choice is given), the task to get or not the license of inspector is not an easy task if you lose the status of employment.

The riots that took place in Sarajevo on 7th of February 2014, ruined huge amounts of records of administrative bodies of the Sarajevo Canton and municipality Center. The largest part of the material was destroyed in the fire, and a smaller part was damaged by water used to extinguish fires. Archival material is damaged by water to special attention in saving by employees of the Historical archives of Sarajevo Canton and employees of the municipality Center. Attempts have been made of this material as quickly as dry as they are quickly emerged to attack the fungus. At the speed of drying material greatly influence of temperature and humidity. For ventilation, time plays a big role and luckily the above activities took place in the spring months. although there were a lot of rainy days and high levels of humidity, material is fast drying. Work on saving the soaked material is organized in two shifts, so that this whole process accelerated access to the material and its drying. Reducing the humidity in the premises of the depot through ventilation only makes sense if the absolute humidity of the outside air is less than the room depot. Making drafts by opening windows affects the temperature drop in the depot, and the fungus can not tolerate drafts. it was important not to heat up the room depots, even when the outside temperature is low.

All archival material that is downloaded to the archives is placed and kept in separate rooms of depot. Depot of Archives of Užice has several rooms located on all floors. Rooms of the depot are equipped with quality system of movable archives shelving and air conditioning systems, security fire alarm and burglary system, which provide the material from damage, disappearance and decay. Vertical communication between depots is provided by the elevator and horizontal communication is provided by the wheelchair, as well as with other services and users. For convenience in the depot, funds and collections are grouped in a way that allows them the easiest retrieval. The principle of storage and disposal of the funds is applied under the scheme for the creating of the guide through the Archives of Serbia. Within groups and subgroups, the funds are delayed by type of institution and ranked from high to low, and within the same rank in alphabetical order of the place of the fund creator. The disadvantages are: the inability to enlargement because of the location, for the general urban plan does not allow more floors; risk of transformer station incorporated in the building of the archives; location - at the intersection of quite busy streets. However, having in mind the depots where the archival materials were located in the old building, it can be said that there has been great progress in creating better conditions for the storage and protection of archives.

One of the most important issues of protection of archival material is its storage. Keeping an archival material includes and requires a space for explorers and conditions for its use, as well. It can also be a problem for record keepers because it is really difficult to provide space for storing large quantities of archival materials in dedicated facility. This is one of the most important issues that archivists struggled with in history and nowadays in particular. At the same time question emerges–where and how the ancient archival material was stored, in what kind of space, shelves, and to what extent such conditions: air, light , micro-organisms, dust, humidity, microbial and protection from moisture, dust, etc., affected its sustainability and durability and what were the consequences of storing archives in such environment. The author of this, in his extensive career, encountered documents, particularly from earlier periods that were wonderful, rare, with beautiful calligraphy and nearly indestructible. Yet, in the second half of the twentieth century, a number of written documents increased to the extent of real industrial production of archives. New formats of records appeared - microfilm, microfiche, photocopies, optical disks, digitization and other. the transfer of the “classic” archival material (paper) to new forms (usually microfilm) preserves the original, source material, saves space occupied and increases its usage .Digitization, as a new form of record, is the creation of the original digital record, and transferring an analog material into digital form. Uniform policies and guidelines in most countries of the former Yugoslavia – that could be the basis for the digitization of the archives, do not exist, nevertheless digitization is very present.Digitization in culture extends to the level of citizen participation in all aspects of cultural life, which could be seen as the democratization of culture. Regardless, archival practice raises the question – what are the old and the new technologies, and further, what is the life cycle of new technology. it is shown so far that the only way to complete protection of archives is interaction between old and new technology. We find that digitalization should first “introduced” in the archival material that comes from the earliest dates, due to the small number of surviving documents, than to the archives categorized as a cultural good of great and exceptional importance, and to the archives most researched. Digitization requires legal regulation.

Due to the fact that we live in an age of advanced technology development, we have the opportunity to take a peek into the past in a way that is less than one human life was almost unthinkable. We can hear the voice of the writer or statesman who died more than 50 years, listen to an aria or traditional song recorded before World War II or hear sounds, taken during the dramatic events in history as that now there are. To make all this possible in the future, it is best to take advantage of digitizing audio files. Each migration process carries with it some risk of irreversible data loss, but without this process, it would be in the recent time definitely happened. The aim of this paper is to present the basic formats of audio files, their characteristics and processes and technology behind them. Shown is the difference between analog and digital audio, presented the adopted standards of the recording and the previous record holder, the steps you need to take when migrating data in archives, necessary hardware and proper storage.

Identification of medical records would not be needed in terms of the Hippocratic oath, when at least two people must know the diagnosis, such as attending physician and his deduced (head of department) that it has determined that task. If such documentation is kept in anonymized form, without patient names, and led to the way the application of different identifiers, whatever would come directly from the data on it, to which the patient‘s concerns. The purpose of anonymization of health care, not intended for protection of medical personnel, which is already so under oath, but only protects the patient or his „problematic information“ about health. In terms of research for medical purposes have been and never will be problematic to use data because it acts in the direction of new and better ways of treatment and rehabilitation. Anonymization process comes into play, when health data to begin the analytical process for populist purposes and various disclosures by the discrediting of individuals. In short, de-identification of medical documentation would not be required, if it is used only by medical staff (in the field), if the documents dealing with other researchers, must protect the main „actors“ - the patient in his intimate life, what right have all.

At the present time archives have become the focus of cultural, scientific and general social events, therefore the scope of archivistics has suffered certain amendments due the rapid it development, accumulation of knowledge and the growing importance of information science. During the second half of the XX century, archives enabled access to the general public and offered a number of services for citizens. Responding to the various needs of modern society, archives are obliged to swift adaptation in order to provide service and answers to the community in which they are acting. To provide a major step forward in the modernization of archival activity and ensure its progress and continued development, it is necessary to start with reorganization of archival system which emphasizes the needs of society and access to a wider range of users. In the course of the process of archival modernization, more and more attention is given to the activities in the area of archival pedagogy and to archival pedagogues or educators, now identified as „modern archivists“. The importance of educational activities is recognized as one of the main activity in archives along with the development and modernization. During the last couple of years in croatia, special attention is given to the archival pedagogy, because executives have realized its importance for the development and modernization of the institution. So far, archival pedagogy has not been systematically organized as an activity or terminologically defined, but recently there is more and more activities which generate conditions for the work of archival pedagogue. Currently, although the archival educator is required, he is still absent from the organizational structure and systematization of positions in archives. Through their work, archival educators would significantly change the current path of archival activities. That would create a new image - better recognition of archives in society, and the development and modernization of the archival service.
