The paper presents the problem of control in self-directed language learning. Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit der Aufstellung der Typologie von fach- und berufsorientierten Dialogen. Sie hat zum Ziel dazu beizutragen, den studienbegleitenden Fremdsprachenunterricht erfolgreicher und zielgerichteter zu gestalten. Im Artikel werden die Fragen der Vermittlung des fach- und berufsorientierten Dialogs den Studenten der Fachrichtung Bibliothekswesen behandelt. Mit Hilfe einer Befragung der Spezialisten der größten litauischen und deutschen Bibliotheken wurden die typischen Situationen der interpersonalen Kommunikation bei der Bibliotheksbenutzung (in der Auskuftsstelle, an der Ausleihstelle und Ausleihberatung) ermittelt. Infolgedessen lassen sich zu Unterrichtszwecken folgende Dialogtypen empfehlen: informierender Dialog, Problemdialog, Streitgespräch. Bei der Aufbereitung der Unterrichtsmaterialien ist es von authentischen Dialogen, die sich in typischen Situationen der fachbezogenen Kommunikation abspielen, auszugehen.

The article discusses the active method of teaching foreign languages. It is considered to be the most effective means to teach foreign languages by increasing the efficiency of teaching foreign languages. The application of this method requires a good guide to the general concept of the human activity and deep analysis of its constituents. The preparation of the methodology for the active method of teaching foreign languages may benefit from the results of the analysis greatly. Since the number of hours for language teaching at non – philological higher school is limited, a selection of rational teaching subject must be carried out before the teaching process. Improved work is both theoretically and practically significant.

This article describes the process of the preparation and delivery of Power Point presentations and how it can be used by teachers as a resource for classroom teaching. The advantages of this classroom activity covering some of the problems and providing a few suggestions for dealing with those difficulties are also outlined. The major objective of the present paper is to investigate the students ability to choose the material and the content of Power Point presentations on professional topics via the Internet as well as the ability to prepare and deliver the presentation in front of the audience. The factors which determine the choice of the presentation subject are also analysed in this paper. After the delivery students were requested to self- and peer-assess the difficulties they faced in preparation and performance of the presentations by writing the reports. Learners’ attitudes to the choice of the topic of Power Point presentations were surveyed by administering a self-assessment questionnaire.

In diesem Artikel geht es um Deutschunterricht für eine bestimmte Zielgruppe. Berufsbezogener Fremdsprachenunterricht ist in der Regel Unterricht mit Jugendlichen, die in der beruflichen Bildung kaum fachliche Kenntnisse haben. Deshalb besteht die Vorbereitung der Lernenden auf die lexikalischen Anforderungen eines Berufes darin, ihnen Techniken zu vermitteln, mit deren Hilfe sie neuen Wortschatz selbständig verstehen, lernen und behalten können. Hier spricht man auch über die Textarbeit, die die text-didaktischen Mittel der stufenweisen Annäherung vom globalen zum detaillierten Verstehen nutzt.Besonderheiten fachsprachlicher Texte in Inhalt, Wortschatz und Grammatik werden darüber hinaus gezielt bewusst gemacht. Was die Grammatikarbeit betrifft, so müssen grammatische Strukturen erkannt und entschlüsselt, aber nicht in jedem Fall produziert werden. Wenn sie wiedergegeben werden, so muss man sie in eigenen Worten und mit einfacheren grammatischen Strukturen wiedergeben.

The European Board documents [6] approved by the Ministry of Education [7, 8] orient the European countries, teachers to ensure a very good, masterful acquisition of three languages (Vantage B2). This attitude is related to an individual’s acquired level of the rational silent reading. The author has been interested in the problem of rational silent reading for 35 years. In the empirical research and experiments there took part more than 500 pupils, students, teachers, employees of different spheres, secondary schools graduates. From the point of view of rational silent reading Lithuania is significantly lagging behind other countries. There are many reasons for that. In order to highlight them there has been briefly studied the content of the rational silent reading according to B2 level; touched on the most significant dimensions of this competency, reviewed the consistent patterns and content of the teaching and learning process of the rational silent reading as well as the norms of such reading in Lithuanian, English, Russian, French. Some research results are presented. At the end there has been given the whole mosaic of recommendations, based on the research, different glottoeducological, psychological, psycholinguistic, physiological, linguistic, etc literature. The aim of the article is to invite teachers, scientists to participate actively in this problem solution under the new Lithuanian conditions.

In this article the problem of active and passive minimum of grammar is analysed alongside with the questions relevant to this problem: the aspects of selection of grammar material, its presentation, teaching, consolidation and realization in communicational process. The author, while analysing students mistakes, states that the main criteria for selecting passive minimum of grammar must be the frequency of the subject and the possibilities of its usage in a definite text. The main factor for choosing active grammar minimum is communicative value of grammar. In the article it has been stated that different grammar exercises are needed for receptive and reproductive learning. The possibilities of grammar material presentation, consolidation and realization in a concrete situation are also touched on in the article.

The article deals with some difficulties, concerning word-building and similar phenomena in French, such as composition, conversion transfer. Written speciality texts are investigated as they convey scientific ideas in the best way. Differently from the difficulties in syntax and semantics the lexical word-building is not a big trouble and therefore not a subject dealt with by linguists, still we can not neglect the changes of meanings of word-building and affixes, new lexical units, carrying out other semantic and syntactic functions.

The paper describes the essential features of a connected text helping to raise learners’ awareness of its structure and organization and improve their skills of reading comprehension. Classroom applications of various approaches to handling texts and text-based activities are also discussed and their main advantages and disadvantages are outlined.Tasks based on text transformation and reconstruction found in the course books of English for students of computing and information technology are analysed and their types are determined. The efficiency of the tasks is determined by considering the experience of the authors gained in using text-based assignments provided in these course books with the students of the above specialities. Some problems encountered in classroom application of the considered text-based tasks are also outlined.

It was established that there exists some difference in the usage of reflective verbs in the French and the Lithuanian language especially in the field of passive voice and a wider semantics of modal and aspect verbs and that raises not a fen problems of effective text reading problems.

Starting with the finding of the overwhelming frequency of the word suoare (with the meaning of defense, derrived from the latin SUO + AR) in an oriental Romanity’s old text, this article sets out to demonstrate that the Spanish anthroponym Suárez is a lineage nickname, explainable through a defensive tendency or an aff ective defense of the altar. The arguments in favour of this thesis can be found in medieval literature’s classic dictionaries, for example in Count Lucanor.
