Within migration flows from Turkey to Eurpoe it can be postulated that the UK has proportionally received more politically motivated migrants than other European destinations. The political migration from Turkey to the UK is marked with the catastrophic events that uprooted people such as 1971 coup d’état, 1978 massacres of Alevis in Maras and 1980 military coup d’état and is known to have peaked with the civil war in the 1990s in the Eastern provinces of Turkey. Hence the majority of the migrants from Turkey in the UK are Kurdish Alevis from eastern provinces such as Maras, Sivas, Kayseri and Tunceli. This research was conducted between September 2014 and September 2015. 60 individuals from Turkish speaking communities were recruited and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted. Interviews were transcribed and then analysed using tools of thematic data analysis. The findings indicated stronger interest in politics and higher level of political participation by Kurdish and Alevi participants. Hence this paper offers a detailedanalysis of political interest and political participation of Kurdish/Alevi community living in London. Three key areas are: i) how they organize themselves under the umbrella of British Alevi Federation; ii) their relationship with civil society organisations and ethnic economy, iii) their activities in order to create public interest and opinion in relation to what is happening in Turkey.

Nowadays, quality presents the key market and differentiating factor of every organization. Meeting the challenges of modern market demands managers who are at the head of organizations have to be more provocative, more innovative, and more flexible and in all businesses they have to be quality-oriented. Almost in every economic or social area there has been an increasing trend where a user sets demands in the quality of services and products. Even the welfare institutions are not excluded from these modern trends. Paper with the title ‘’Orientation of social welfare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to quality” aims to determine the orientation of institutions of social protection (social work centers and NGO) in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the implementation and quality assurance. The empirical research was realized on the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The study included a total of 136 respondents representatives from social protection. In the analysis of empirical research results are used known statistical methods and all analyzes were performed with the help of statistical package for data analysis (SPSS 17.0). The results showed that the institutions of social protection in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not sufficiently oriented towards quality and that in them there is no system of governance quality.

Israel’s foreign policy is a game of ideas and interests. The ideas usually havetheir roots in the Jewish religious tradition and ethic, which – as Israeli politiciansemphasise – constitute universal world heritage. By invoking them, Israel attemptsto justify its policy (interests), which is broadly criticised in the UN, especially forhuman rights violations. Therefore, Israel pays particular attention to promotingthe notions of justice and solidarity, which have been addressed by, among others, the UN’s Millennium Development Goals; this includes practical measures tofulfil these notions. The article is an attempt to verify the principle adopted by the constructivist method of studying international relations that ideas need not collidewith interests – they can be incorporated in interests and emphasised as a ‘morenoble’ factor, easier to accept by the other participants in international relations.

The study, carried out with the use of in-depth interviews, comprised two com- munities of the Kłodzko district: Nowa Ruda (rural community) and Szczytna. They referred to the perceptions of cross-border cooperation. The cooperation was initiated in the 90s of the twentieth century. Since the accession of Poland and the Czech Re- public to the EU it has been intensified. Cross-border cooperation is not the subject well-known to the residents of these communities. They evaluate these actions positively as contributing to a better mutual understanding and frequent direct contacts between Poles and Czechs. This cooperation has a significant impact on the positive perception of the southern neighbours. Many speakers even considered the Czech Republic as a model of economy. This assessment was, however, superficial and was not supported by any specific evidence. Cross-border cooperation in the district of Kłodzko concerns mainly such spheres as tourism and culture, and it is mostly coordinated by the municipal offices and their subordinate units. The involvement of NGOs in these processes is, in the opinion of respondents, hardly noticeable. To strengthen the cooperation it would be necessary to improve the communication network, in particular railway connections.

The text is treats of the espionage against Poland in the period 1944–1989. The above analysis has been supplemented with the quantitative data from the period 1944–1984 as regards those convicted for participating in, acting for, and passing on information to the foreign intelligence agencies. The espionage issues were presented on the example of the American intelligence activity, which was illustrated by the cases of persons who were convicted for espionage. While examining the research thesis, the author used the documents and analyses prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which were in its major part addressed to the Security Service and the Citizens’ Militia officers. The author made an attempt at the verification of the following research hypotheses: (1) To what extent did the character of the socio-political system influence the number of persons convicted for espionage against Poland in the period under examination (1944–1989)?; (2) What was the level of foreign intelligence services’ interest in Poland before the year 1990?; (3) Is it possible to indicate the specificity of the U.S. intelligence activity against Poland?

This paper analyzes the regional elections of the deputies to the Kaliningrad Oblast Duma, starting in 1993 and the applicable legislation, and leads to the conclusion that, in general, all the elements of the election system of deputies of the State Duma, or the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, are replicated in the Kaliningrad region and other units of the Federation. The unification of the electoral legislation across the entire Russian Federation promoted greater similarity of the election systems of different regions, without taking into account their specific character. The transformation of the law on electoral procedures on the federal level, which is still in progress, determines further search for an optimal election model in the Russian Federation.
