The paper explores the culture of political discourse, particularly domestic. Much attention is paid to the metaphor, and dramatization polemical political reality, the use of humor in politics. The first concept that characterizes modern political discourse and its culture – a metaphor. The latter researchers believe the primary means of knowledge by transferring concepts from specific areas in the abstract . In fact, the literal translation of the word "metaphor" – a transfer. Metaphorization is closely related to metonymy . Metonymy – a replacement of one another phenomenon – re-naming. Metaphor and metonymy Also in political discourse actively use and other linguistic techniques. Synecdoche term meaning "to have something else in mind" when we express our opinion. Widely used in political discourse and synonyms – When the characteristics of the concept of using different colors. Importantly, it is usually words, which only coincide in meaning, and therefore, while describing one concept, in fact, can only be loved by the main content.Antonyms – is opposite in sense, they enhance the expressiveness emphasize content statements emphasize the contrasts of opposite qualities, including political opponents. In general, all linguistic methods are closely related and generally describe one phenomenon – multiple – polysemy, which is closely linked to the polemical. The latter, according to researchers in general are the most expressive feature of most political discourse. The next feature – obscurity obvious at first glance, the political passages.Another phenomenon, which the researchers point out , and which should be considered in the study of political discourse – political diglossia, ie the existence within the totalitarian society of political fact of bilingualism – ordinary language and the language of official propaganda. The emergence of euphemisms and tabuizmiv – natural, since they replace words that can not be used. To this end, as the notion of context, the words can be surrounded by others that allow you to understand what's going on, avoiding direct characteristics. However, this political metaphor and diglossia reflect not only the most important characteristics of political dis-course, and political attitudes. Thus, the characteristic of the USSR metaphor hyhantomaniyi and paternalism consider universal indicator totalitarian and authoritarian society. And vice versa – a feature of political discourse can change not only the public mood, but also cause social and political transformation. Confirmation of this view was the discursive theory of democracy R. Anderson. An example may serve as a kind of diglossia research Baixa A. and K. Hallahana " The media framing Ukraine in the period 2000-2001, the political crisis".Another interesting feature of political discourse is the use of derogatory names for the attack , which are easily identifiable in the memory and thus cause the necessary associations. From them we can determine, for example, party affiliation kicker. The special features of contemporary political discourse, particularly in Ukraine, include the active use of laughter and the so-called political humor. The feature of contemporary humor in Ukrainian politics is the emphasis and ridicule of things in general are far from the political sphere and in no way related to political convictions, programs, goals, ideas, ideological affiliation, etc. opponents. The dominance in the media "gay politicians" can serve as an indicator of his "healthy" state. Of course , no one to laughter and humor, especially in politics, especially in such a difficult time for social progress, but you need to respect each other under any circumstances. The term "culture of communication" not only reflects the general state of culture in society, but also affect its formation. In favor of confirmation thoughts about the glut of modern domestic space "laughter" and suggests the establishment of a new political formation "satirical Democratic Party of Ukraine".

In first part of the article, the authors discuss the problems with defining languages used for specific purposes as well as with defining the field that deals with researching and teaching these variations of language. The authors also present the current approaches to research and pedagogy which are being discussed in the literature of foreign language learning and teaching, among them, the rapprochement between the research on languages for specific purposes and discourse and interaction analysis, as well genre and intercultural studies. This broader study perspective should cause changes in foreign language teaching practice: teaching languages for specific purposes should be planned in a way that would enable language users to participate in the discourse community by developing, during language classes, effective discourse behaviours. In the second part of the article, the authors discuss the content of the 23rd volume of this periodical, entitled: Specialist variations of the language – 1.

Teaching foreign language for professional purposes is subjected to constant alterations, following changes in the standards of language teaching and new teaching techniques focused on taking linguistic actions. In the past decades, it has evolved from lexically-oriented didactics of specialist texts to open forms of teaching, taking into account actual communicative and action needs resulting from the execution of specific professional tasks. More and more frequent consideration of requirements stated in competence profiles for specific occupations in course programmes influences even broader integration of knowledge and technical competence with linguistic actions taken in the social context. The article provides an overview of the development of glottodidactic discussion in the field of professional language didactics. It also deals with selected results of research on linguistic needs, conducted as part of the project JASNE-Alles klar! in more than 330 companies of Central Europe, and presents language competence profiles for designated occupational groups compiled on the basis of aforementioned research. W ciągu ostatnich dziesięcioleci przeszło ewolucję od zorientowanej leksykalnie dydaktyki tekstów specjalistycznych do otwartych form nauczania, uwzględniających realne potrzeby komunikacyjne i działaniowe wynikające z realizacji konkretnych zadań zawodowych.

Since Polish and Hungarian belong to different language families, they are typologically and genetically different. Polish is a member of the Indo-European family. It is a Slavic and fusional language while Hungarian, a member of the Uralic language family, is Finno-Ugric, agglutinative one. Grammatical categories of both languages differ considerably, some phenomena which are specific to one of them, do not exist in the other. In Hungarian, for example, nouns do not have grammatical gender, there are no collective numerals, verbs do not have aspect, and nouns, though inflected, have different cases. Hungarian linguists thus so as to describe Polish language structure had to coin terms which would refer to grammatical categories/phenomena nonexistent in Hungarian. The article presents these terms, analyzing their nature and structure.

Acquisition of new terminology in a foreign language is one of fundamental challenges encountered by all translators. Next to the lexical level it is necessary to learn a necessary scope of professional knowledge, enabling the translator to use appropriately the newly acquired vocabulary that often refers to issues which are not known to him/her well even in a native language. The author of the paper deliberates on the methods of effective teaching of specialist language, including mainly legal and economic terminology, required from candidates for sworn translators. She proposes the task based learning consisting of practical translations of selected texts, representing typical genres of speech in the spheres of communication under discussion.

The aim of the article is to give insight into reading comprehension and the role of prior knowledge in reading literary texts in Spanish as a foreign language. In order to achieve this, the author conducted a survey to investigate understanding and inferencing in understanding of the culturally marked text elements in three literary texts fragments. This article aims to show how to use content and language integrated teaching/learning (CLIL – Content and Language Integrated Learning) in Polish as a foreign language course. The assumption is that teaching special varieties of the Polish language is, in fact, transferring knowledge. Language, thanks to which it is possible to learn new information, becomes at the same time a constitutive element of the constructed knowledge of a particular sphere of life. Therefore, there follows full integration of teaching/learning content and the language itself. In the article a proposal is outlined of how to written text and drama as a form consistent with the CLIL approach.

The article shows how the School of Polish for Foreigners at the University of Lodz teaches the Polish language for specific purposes. For the past 60 years, the School has been preparing foreigners and students of Polish descent to study at Polish universities. In this process, certain challenges arise, one of them being how to find correlations between the curricula for Polish as a foreign language and other subjects, which are introduced after the initial weeks of the Polish course, sometimes still during the introductory course. The students should be aware that the language they are taught is the same as the one they learn during biology, mathematics or history classes. The author, who has for many years been teaching Polish in medical groups, discusses the challenges that the teachers face. The correlation between subjects taught is illustrated by some examples from the School’s courses in Polish, chemistry, mathematics, and physics.

This article looks at texts of literary criticism that Algirdas Julius Greimas had published in both Lithuanian and diaspora journals. His critical texts written in the Lithuanian language display a variety of themes and genres and are notable not only for their polemical and canon-denying aspects but also for their sensitivity both to the comparative context of Western literature and to parallels and conflicts with tradition. Greimas keeps on returning to the same writers in his reflections on their literary creations; in these reflections he often indicates what still remains to be explored ahead. His constant presence between two literary cultures – French and Lithuanian – endowed his critical thinking with vitality and polemical vigor. Springing outside and beyond the genre canon, Greimas’s pieces of literary criticism often develop into literary essays.

In the age of the widespread globalization, intensive international economic, scientific and technical cooperation, there are promising prospects for those specialists who aim at improving their professional qualifications or taking up employment abroad. A fundamental conditio which is to be met in order to fulfil those plans is to achieve the command of professional language of the target country or professional English. The need of skilful verbal communication is connected with the occupational mobility, especially that of members of health service staff. Command of professional language, which entails the necessity of comprehension of specialist texts, is indispensable if it comes to the contacts with patients and other members of health service staff at workplace. Vocabulary of specialist professional languages is systematically expanded through scientific research development, creation of new specialisations and using more and more modern appliances for the purpose of medical diagnostics, and the medical stuff has to assimilate it. This paper is focused on the specialist professional language with particular attention given to the medical and nurses’ one. I would also like to present the multimedia course of professional language for nurses who sedesign is to take up employment outside the territory of Poland.W czasach powszechnej globalizacji, intensywnej międzynarodowej współpracy gospodarczej, naukowej i technicznej otwierają się szerokie perspektywy przed specjalistami pragnącymi podnieść kwalifikacje zawodowe lub podjąć pracę poza granicami kraju. Tematem rozważań w niniejszym artykule będzie specjalistyczny język zawodowy, w szczególności zaś język medyczny i język pielęgniarek. Chciałabym też przedstawić multimedialny kurs językowy dla pielęgniarek, chcących pracować poza granicami Polski.

As society has evolved, significance and the role of the family within it changed, as well as the attitudes towards marriage and adultery. This article aims to demonstrate, by analysis of Horace’s and Juvenal’s satires, how the emancipation of Roman women altered the vision of the adultery in Roman satire and how these changes have reflected on the language of this genre.
