The characters from Le Clezio’s novels, with their great mobility and nomadism, cross frontiers and refuse all forms of belonging based on conventional and conformist values. That non-belonging raises the problem of family inasmuch as this one Le Clezio represents goes against traditional foundations of genealogy and identity. Moreover his novels’ characters essentially young are deprived of paternal and maternal supports. Present study examines Le Clezio’s singular family representation and broadens our thought to the modalities of subjacent and hybrid identity.

In the last twenty years, african women novelists have affirmed their visibility on the francophone literary scene, and have accorded an increasingly central place to the body and sexuality. In the work of each of these novelists, sexuality takes part in an aesthetic project and demonstrates a newly configured vision of the world. It is in this context that the work of Calixthe Beyala, a Cameroonian woman novelist, is situated. While in her first three novels she casts sexuality as part of the war between the sexes, with Femme nue femme noire the Cameroonian author begins a new phase, defining a new erotic project. This article will show how Femme nue femme noire constitutes a textualisation of sexuality that symbolizes both social disorder and a woman’s will to free herself of the chains of phallocratic power and of what Beyala calls a testicular dictatorship.

Lewis Carroll’s Alice has been an inspiration for many visual artists. The first who illustrated it was John Tenniel and his drawings were a part of the first official edition of the book. His work does not only act as visual accompaniment to the text, but rather, in certain instances, it functions as text. The illustrations explain certain remarks and events from the text, which are not explained by the text itself. That is an example of a charming intervention of the visual to the literal, with the aim, to explain the worlds of the two novels. Salvador Dalí, Maggie Taylor, and Zdenko Bašić are artists whose illustrations in their own innovative way represent Alice, through the principles of illustration.

Kad smo već kod self-help literature, najprodavanija knjiga takvog sadržaja u protekloj godini je The Subtle Art of Not 82 Giving a Fuck Marka Mansona. Među deset najprodavanijih knjiga u protekloj godini svrstala se i jedna iz žanra popularne znanosti - Astrophysics for People in a Hurry, koju potpisuje Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

The goal of this paper is to investigate the role of disciplinary power regimes of femininityin sporting institutions depicted in sports fiction. With a renewed interest in analyzingsports practices as specifically gendered, this paper addresses how contemporary narratives’deeper address of the affective encounters of characters has reconfigured the sports literarypanorama. As represented in Miranda Kenneally’s novel, Coming Up for Air (2017), friendshipposes a challenge to the institutionalized, parental and gendered bodily vulnerability ofsports. The analysis reveals how the adolescent body is manageable but can also contest, indirect questioning of the interests of authority. Enjoying friendship in sports, eventually, revealspaths towards more inclusive (bodily) practices in them. Finally, this paper speaks of thefact that juvenile fiction, traditionally considered an archive of negative influence on youngreaders’ behaviors, can exercise the opposite effect too.
