The proposed work wants to draw attention to the musical personality of Violeta Dinescu, outlining a biographical sketch of the composer, at the same time listing novel components of her musical contribution. Violeta Dinescu stands out as one of the most individualized artistic personalities that the composition scene in Romania has formed, through the prism of mentors such as Myriam Marbe, Alexandru Pașcanu, Liviu Comes, Aurel Stroe, or Ștefan Niculescu, naming part of the values of music Romanian contemporaries who marked his artistic trajectory. Having been established in Germany since 1982, where she carries out an exceptional pedagogical course at the University of Oldenburg, Violeta Dinescu is also a prominent promoter of the Romanian music scene, through the prism of the numerous symposia organized in an international setting that address Romanian themes, or even dedicated to native Romanian artists, such as George Enescu, as well as in the initiation of an archive of Romanian music in Oldenburg. Among his compositional contributions, we can list those belonging to the genres of music for film, for plays, orchestral works, chamber, choral and vocal pieces as well as piano pieces. The present work proposes a passage through his most emblematic musical works, which combine elements of folklore in a contemporary musical envelope, characterized by a refined expressiveness and a highly topical musical discourse.
