In modern social work the term "social group" is too often used and - unfortunately in most cases inaccurate. For this reason, the concept needs to be scientifically clarified in order to be used in its true sense. The social group is a basic type of social community, a real union of members of society at a certain time and place, who jointly perform one or one separate circle of public activities, based on which common group interests and value-normative system, group solidarity and sense of group identity. Each group is unique. It develops in its own way from its starting point and at its own pace. The context of the organization and society in which the group develops determines the nature and success of this cooperation.

The orientation of the educational system towards memorization and reproduction, and not towards provoking thinking, independence and formation of skills, is a serious problem of all educational systems. This is a serious problem in recent decades, as in today's rapidly evolving world a significant amount of „ready“ knowledge is not very valuable and is not sufficient for successful social realization. They do not allow for independence, creative thinking and decision-making in practical situations. Unlike other educational systems, in which in recent years successful attempts have been made to change the logic of the teacher-student relationship, Bulgarian school education continues to be based on the model of the teacher giving knowledge and exercising power, and the student receiving and subordinating. This one-sidedness in the teacher-student relationship is an obstacle to the development of initiative and resourcefulness of students. In the context of these reflections and based on the age characteristics of fourth grade students, the goal is to create conditions and opportunities for cognitive activity and independence by using the method of „brainstorming“ and the method of mind maps in teaching the subject. „Man and society“. The conducted research should show or deny that the application of interactive methods in the teaching of „Man and Society“ in the fourth grade, successfully fit into the modern teaching in the initial stage of education.

The following psychological methods were used in the study: Worthington Autonomy Scale (Anderson et al., 1994); Self-concept clarity scale (Campbell et al., 1996); Rosenberg's self-esteem scale (Rosenberg, 1965); Self-efficacy scale (SES); Mark Sherer, James E. Maddux, Blaise Mercandante, Steven Prentice Dunn, Beth Jacobs, Ronald W. Rogers (Corcoran & Fischer, 2000); Method for assessment of the localization of control, adapted by Angel Velichkov and Maria Radoslavova (Radoslavova and Velichkov, 2005). The results demonstrate the influence on the Autonomy of the Self- efficacy, the Self-Assessment and the Clarity of the Self-concept and have theoretical applicability, as far as they clarify the question of the personal determinants of the successful achievement of the status of autonomy. The conclusions of the empirical research have their practical applicability in psychological counseling for proper focusing of interventions aimed at the autonomy promotion of the consulted persons.

A Bulgarian version of the temporal satisfaction with life scale(TSWLS) is presented. Two independent samples of employees and students are surveyed - a total of 102 respondents. The results of the statistical analyses suggest that the Bulgarian version has best psychometric parameters without three items of the original scale - №2,6 and 11 - each one belongs separately to the three subscales - past, present and future. This is an argument to cut the number of items to thirteen at whole scale.

The first meeting of a child and its parents is always of great importance for the work that will follow. Allowing the parent and the child to speak separately, as well as the place from which each member of the family will speak in order to reconstruct the history of suffering, is something which Françoise Dolto has thought upon throughout her entire professional path. What can we use from the theoretical and practical experience of Dolto and her French psychoanalyst colleagues when listening to the family, when taking the anamnesis of the family and when expressing our opinion in the first admission?

Social disjuncture is a complex result of certain unfavorable life circumstances, a person’s social insecurity, and psychological discomfort, lack of self-confidence, social skills, respect, dignity, and self-esteem. Individuals or groups experience social disjuncture due to poverty, discrimination, loss of employment, relationships with relatives, imprisonment, illness, and addictions. One of the groups experiencing social disjuncture is men, and the stereotypes of society towards men further increase the risk of exclusion of this social group. Due to men’s social disjuncture, their social and professional life becomes very limited; their repulsive experience limits decision making, and disrupts the expression of socially acceptable behavior. Men in social disjuncture suffer from social rejection, inferiority; self-doubt, diminished self-esteem, their social skills, and social expression are often unacceptable in society. They often refuse to make positive decisions that can improve their quality of life, do not recognize their uniqueness, otherness, and avoid socially significant changes, bold decisions. Men who have been separated for a long time exhibit aggressive behavior and become even more isolated as a result. The social disjuncture of men can be successfully reduced in the group of social changes aimed at men’s self and knowledge of the environment, development of social skills, development of suitable alternatives for socially unacceptable behavior, increasing social inclusion in society.Social disjuncture is a complex result of certain unfavorable life circumstances, a person’s social insecurity, and psychological discomfort, lack of self-confidence, social skills, respect, dignity, and self-esteem. The article is an analysis of the concepts of authenticity and self-realization presented in self-help books in terms of the modes of reflexivity involved in the pursuit of authentic existence. The source material is analyzed using the concepts of concerns and internal conversation developed by Margaret S. Archer. Advice on how to achieve self-realization is examined using Archer’s notions of communicative, autonomous and meta-reflexivity. Other theoretical inspirations include the insights of Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann regarding theories about identity, Nikolas Rose’s remarks on “psy”, as well as Charles Taylor’s reflections on the ethics of authenticity, horizons of intelligibility and free choice as a value.

The paper presents the methodological approach of art-based research as a form of conducting research studies in expressive art therapies. In art-based research, artistic means are applied as methods of data collecting and processing, as well as presenting research results. Besides being the object of studying, artistic activity and its products becomes the research method itself. The methods of art-based research reflect the characteristics of the utilised art form or means; however, it is important to understand a different research paradigm which they stem from.

The 2020 pandemic led to the immediate lockdown of schools and universities worldwide with far-reaching implications for educators and learners. Individual stories of lockdown and isolation are documented using direct quotations from discussion forums, emails, live chats, and structured journal entries from the Blackboard learning management system. A ‘qualitative sense’ of a common narrative of turmoil and success within this ‘new [ab] normal’ is established. Educators’ contrasting accounts of uncertainty and hope are highlighted. The notion of anticipatory anxiety as a result of social lockdown restrictions is covered in terms of its impact on mental health and wellbeing, with special reference to the neuroscience that underpins this phenomenon. Strategies for the management of stress-related autonomic nervous system activation, as well as for building resilience and coping skills in classrooms, are highlighted, along with the need to address issues of cognitive dissonance and fatigue caused by increased online/blended teaching demands during uncertain times. The online format was found to be potentially impersonal and cold without the essential ‘human factor’. Despite technology in education there has to be human and social interaction, as well as support online. The most benefit was derived from live sessions and social interaction.

This paper considers the musical abilities of children of pre-school age and the factors which influence the development of those abilities. It highlights the findings of research among pre-school children in Slovakia, which was conducted on the basis of the author’s concept of a non-standard test to ascertain the quality of those children’s musical abilities, in the form of a fairytale. The test, created to ascertain the quality of the musical abilities of children of pre-school age, offers an instrument for diagnosing the quality of their musical sense and prediction of their musical talent. Methodically and thematically, it may be of assistance to pre-school teachers and also teachers in elementary art schools.
