The article introduces the idea of activist curatorial strategy called „ naive curator”. It has been written from the perspective of newly shaped types of institutions, in the context of changes in Polish exhibition movement and increasing professionalization of institutions and curators. One such example is „galeria dla…” in Torun and curatorial practice of the author of this article. The practice is based on social work: education and attempts of balancing on the verge of exhibitions and „common life” with the receivers of art. These attempts anticipate atypical forms of communication. The operation is based upon a new form of dialogue and acceptance of mistakes, apparent failures and the category of temporary dissent from generally accepted forms of behavior – not only social, but also connected to exhibition custom. In the spirit of dialogue and tolerance, the quest for forms of communities based on “love” and common life may solve the dilemma based on opposition: unification/ alienation. The process of preparation of problem exhibition and curatorial strategies are judged as bastion for authoritarian or even absolute attitude not only towards the artist and work of art, but also gathering attention and receiver’s emotions. Among various types of curatorial attitudes: curator/star, curator/theorist, curator/artist and collective curator, the one that adheres to naive attitude is the last one. Negotiation of positions and construction of common, coherent vision thanks to the work of a group of people creates remarkably strong arguments. It makes locating works of art in exhibition’s space and contextualization towards other works of art and space far easier. The collective neutralizes „stardom”, introduces polilogue at the stage of creation and construction of the exhibition, as well as augurs well for its reception. Naive attitude is about deliberate omission of the context of theoretical shallows, modernist/avant-garde utopias of social change for the benefit of taking specific activist actions. Assuming that aesthetic and philosophical theories that describe artistic world may also be unreliable/mistaken. Are glorifiers of art’s alienation right? Or perhaps those who see art as the source of crisis and reflection? Or maybe those who are for the specific actions for the benefit of people? That we do not know yet.

The principles of archival service are contained in numerous standards, doctrines and in code of ethics. The code of ethics for archivists was adopted on 13th ICA Congress on September 6th 1996 in Beijing. However, there is an open question about archivist as an individual. Can archivist be impartial and preserve neutrality and objectivity in his profession? How strictly an archivist can obey every demand from code of ethics? Fundamental and honest analysis of these and similar questions can contribute for improvement of profession. Mere acceptance of prescribed standards does not means their instantaneous implementation.

Recognition of importance of functions in creating context records and connecting description of archival materials with information about their creators for the user’s better understanding resulted in adoption of new archival description standards - ISDF and ISDIAH. ISDF provides directives for production of legal entity functions description related to archives creation and its further handling. Descriptions of record’s functions are important for explaining its provenance and could be used for description of functions. ISDIAH establishes set of rules related to standardization of archival institutions’ descriptions, thus making easier identifi cation and contacting material’s possessors, access to archives and attainable services. Descriptions of functions should serve as supplement and addition to records’ descriptions, prepared in accordance with ISAD(G) standard and standardized records created in accordance with ISAAR(CPF) standards. Descriptions of the archival institutions also should be related to descriptions of stored materials and its creators. Croatian translations, enhanced with domestic examples was prepared and published by Croatian State Archives in November 2009.

Since 1950, Archival Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina existed as advisory body for archival service sector. From available sources related to Council’s activities during the 1950’s and 1960’s it is clearly visible that one of its preocupations was discussion over archival service problems of that time. According to the Law about Archival Materials and Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2001, it is predicted that Archival Council should be advisory body for the Council of Ministers of BiH for archival service sector. Regarding the fact that Archival Council is not yet appointed, according to some changes and amendments in the mentioned Law, different structure of this body is anticipated, including wider and more precise defi ned competences towards better effi ciency and usefulness.

Potrebe društva i nove okolnosti življenja nalažu savremenoj arhivskoj službi detaljnu razradu problematike valorizacije i kategorizacije arhivske građe. Društvene potrebe postizanja istinskih rezultata, bez bilo kakve pristrasnosti na polju istraživanja savremene istorije takođe zahtijevaju odgovornu i stručnu valorizaciju i kategorizaciju arhivske građe. Valorization and categorization of archives as historical source represents the most sensitive and the most important step of archival research. The purpose of valorization is to determine permanent material’s scientifi c, historical, cultural and operational signifi cance. Beside professionalism, archivist should exercise the highest level of objectivity, and not to be led by political, ideological or religious attitudes, economic conditions, subjective criteria and experience. It is necessary to defi ne unique approach to common criteria in the Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to insure correct treatment of national archival fund. The purpose of categorization is to certify the order of priorities in preservation of archival materials.

Archive digitization process is much more than mere scanning of documents. It is rising of archival praxis on a whole new level, with aim to create multifunctional digital system to be ready to serve both creators and record-keepers. Due to objective circumstances, Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina could not keep pace with similar institutions abroad, but we shall have the good use of others’ experience. The main problem in the digitization process is related to huge amount of documents and technological limitations. Standards for digitization are generally determined, but since there is no premanent solution for record-keeping hardware, it is necessary to stay in touch with latest innovations. Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina transferred several catalogues into digital format and the benefi ts are clearly visible. Faster access to data and possibility for multiple search is something what every archivist could only dreamed of just few decades ago. After implementation of ARHiNET software and transferring the certain amount of data is completed, our full integration into modern archival societies will become accomplished.

On today’s IT market the wide range of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software is available, but only a few are able to process cyrilic and latinic alfabet characters. The most common is Abby Fine Reader, along with Omnipage and Readiris. Usage estimation of OCR processed text is refl ected in the period of time needed to manually correct all remaining errors. A page from magazine Nada (1897) is used in this experiment. It had been digitized in three diferent resolutions (200 DPI, 400 DPI and 600 DPI). The primary objective of the experiment was to show the percentage of OCR software accuracy during character’s conversion process from picture to readable text, and secondary objective was to use this experiment to fi nd out the most optimal components for digitization process, considering the amount of scanning time and the quantity of memory needed for permanent preservation of digitized record.

This paper is initially organized around the issue of revitalization of Alija Đerzelez's name and work as well as his connection to Zenica and Gradišće. Having all this in mind, we should consider whether or not we should pay more attention to this great personality and upgrade it to the higher level through construction of monuments after we have seen many historical and cultural monuments being destroyed and devastated without anyone paying attention or punishing the doers of such acts.

This paper examines the different models of library cooperation in many particular activities. In the digital environment the most frequent motives (reasons) for the consortium arrangements and other types of library cooperation are: coordinate acquisition, joint financial demands, and especially adopting and application of the new tehnologies. The various types of the library cooperation are evaluated as the models for the planning the concrete future partnership relations between the Belgrade University Library and the academic libraries from the region. Shared information resources (both traditional and electronic), cooperative open accesss digital repositories, permanent professional training and the rational financial distribution in the frame of the consortium – those are the the main colaborative pathways for the successful and lasting cooperation.
