Author(s): Tomas Butvilas / Language(s): Lithuanian / Issue: 14/2005

Within this article we emphasize children's social-moral behavior as the basis of their socialization expression. The diagnostic research has shown some behavioral peculiarities on the level of internalized values of those primary school children, who have experienced the loss in the family. At the most of the times the identification processes for the grieving children are laden, and they are often linked to internalize those values that are not acceptable or preferable to the society they are living in. Also we have identified that most of the socialization researches do not pay much of attention to the grieving children's situation. Thus we tried to reveal some behavioral peculiarities of the grieving primary school children towards their gender and experienced loss. The data of the research has shown that girls, who have experienced loss in the family, could be characterized as less respectful to others, peaceful, sensible, and self-controlled than other girls or boys of the same age. Besides among the boys, who have faced the loss of a loving one, such the internalized values as sharing with others, initiation, and self-sufficiency are non-predominant. It was stated that grieving children's social-moral behavior according to some internalized values are less stable than those, who did not experience the loss. As the matter of fact, the research data has shown that the loss experience in the family affects children's social-moral behavior and their further relations with others (the meaningful statistic disparities were set as well).

Związek pomiędzy wiekiem, preferencją spójności i skutecznością techniki wpływu społecznego „stopa w drzwiach”

Author(s): Ada Maksim,Slawomir Spiewak / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 40/2017

In the present paper we focus on the significance of individual differences in explaining the effectiveness of social influence, more specifically the sequential request techniques. We discuss the relationship between preference for consistency (PFC) and mechanisms of the compliance procedures based on commitment consistency rule (CC). We provide rationale for two important notions: (1) that PFC mediates the effectiveness of the foot-in-the-door technique (FITD) and (2) PFC increases with age. Thus we predict that older people could be particularly susceptible to the FITD manipulation. We present our original findings supporting the above mentioned assumptions which as far as we know have not been documented yet in the literature.

Związki psychologii i pedagogiki humanistycznej z dalekowschodnimi ideałami wychowania

Author(s): Pawel Zielinski / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 1/2008

W 1961 r. Anthony Sutich (1907–1976), współpracujący z Abrahamem Maslowem (1908–1970), założył czasopismo The Journal of Humanistic Psychology, a w 1963 r. Gordon Allport (1897–1967), Charlotte Buhler (1893– 1974), George Kelly (1905–1967), Carl Rogers (1902–1987) oraz Abraham Maslow powołali w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki Amerykańskie Towarzystwo Psychologii Humanistycznej. Wszyscy ci uczeni sprzeciwili się dotychczasowym dominującym kierunkom w psychologii: psychoanalizie i behawioryzmowi oraz nauce zorientowanej pozytywistycznie, jako pomijającym w swych teoriach kategorie ludzkich możliwości i zdolności, takie jak: tożsamość, przekraczanie ego, autonomia, miłość, twórczość, odpowiedzialność, zdrowie psychiczne, wartości duchowe i podobne.

Zwycięskie preferencje. Skuteczność głosów preferencyjnych w systemie proporcjonalnym z listami otwartymi

Author(s): Adam Gendzwill,Jaroslaw Flis,Dariusz Stolicki / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 29/2018

The article presents the usage of the preference votes in open-list proportional representation system (OLPR). The electoral rules condition the efficiency of the casted votes, i.e. the extent to which the voters’ preferences affect the distribution of seats. In the OLPR system the “wasted votes” may refer not only to the representation of party preferences, but also personal preferences frequently expressing distinct territorial identities. Using the data from Polish Sejm elections, as well as the sub-national elections, the authors analyze the usage and outcomes of the preference votes. During the last two decades in Sejm elections the share of efficient preference votes (casted for the elected representatives) was only slightly higher than the share of votes casted for the losing candidates; in case of the sub-national elections, the latter category of votes visibly prevailed. The authors analyze in detail the differences between the elections, parties and Sejm electoral districts, representing various characteristics. Non-parametrical regression analysis provides the list of factors influencing the efficiency of preferential votes, which is generally in agreement with the theoretical expectations. The largest shares of efficient preference votes may be observed in the districts of a high magnitude, and a lower level of fragmentation (both party and territorial).

This article examines the development of the definition of autonomy in the context of contemporary bioethics without claiming to be covering all of the concepts. Its principal goal is to stress on the difficulties which follow from the breach in the connection between autonomy and moral. The enrichment of the knowledge of this particular problem and the questions that follow from it, will undoubtedly give publicity to problems connected to the solution of contemporary medical conflicts which ought not to be treated simply as formal procedures but to be considered in the context of interpersonal relations.
