О мистима. Уз песму и игру
This paper is part of wider historical-philological researches on Mystery cults of the Ancient Greek world. The so far semasiological and contextual meanings of the terms mystes, mysterium, mysteria, led us to the ideas of mask and masking. Here we represent and analyze five relevant passages from the Greek sources. They show us that the Greeks participants in Mystery cults during the ritual put on them clay and bran. The origins of this practice are closely connected to the Titans and suffering of the deity Dionysus. The mystae danced, played and sang in their religious ecstasy. The Mystery ritual was always organized in nighttime.
