On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the highest quality continuous academic performance of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, the university's decisionmaking bodies decided to acknowledge the historical dimension of this process by publishing several works that address the most representative aspects of the academic landscape. Since the engagement with the national and international academic and scientific community has been a fundamental element of the academic management process at the most prestigious business and economics university in Romania, and the inclusion as members of the most representative personalities, with notable professional, scientific, institutional or organisational contributions, is a basic component of operational strategies and programmes, one of the works published on this occasion presents the professional and scientific profiles of the personalities to whom the Senate of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, at the proposal of the Board of Administration, has conferred the highest honorary title, that of Doctor Honoris Causa.

A new book by Stefan Kisyov – The Hagiographer was published in Prague by the Bulgarian Cultural and Educational Organization St. St. Cyril and Methodius. The main character is a hagiographer from the ninth century, with a dark past, who lives in Rome with his lover Monika. The rich and famous princess Monti asks him to write a life of Constantine the Philosopher. Shortly after, under dramatic circumstances, the chief archivist of the Church of Rome, Anastasius Bibliothecarius, made the same offer to him. From that moment on, the nameless hero of Stefan Kisyov embarks together with Monika both on a feverish study of the life of Constantine the Philosopher and his work – the creation of the Glagolitic alphabet, as well as on exciting adventures with an unexpected ending in Rome, Venice, Constantinople and the old Bulgarian capitals Pliska and Veliki Preslav. He overcomes many obstacles like prison, torture, kidnapping by pirates, but, in the end, successfully completes both his studies and his long journey on the footsteps of Constantine Cyril the Philosopher. Along the way, the hagiographer meets many historical figures – popes, patriarchs, emperors, princes.
