The paper was conceived as a pleading for the consideration of ethical issues and concerns posed by sociological professions. Starting from emphasizing the role and place of ethics in defining professions, the paper develops arguments in favor of supporting the importance of ethics in sociological practice and the need for institutionalization ethics in professional organizations in the area of social research. In this respect we have addressed and discussed the following topics: the role of ethical formalization (development of codes of ethics), the specific of ethical management, models of moral development of organizations. For illustrative purposes we present ethical aspects and issues that may arise in sociological research and practice. We consider that under current conditions, professional organizations can no longer ignore the ethical aspects involved in all actions and activities of their members and also cannot be limited to sharing the restrictive vision of moral legalism. This is because sociological practice involves an interaction with human subjects, and respecting dignity, treating them with respect and consideration is a superior priority task than any legislative provisions. On the other hand assuming values and moral principles and managing ethical issues by an organization contributes to promoting its positive public image, enhancing reputation, trust, and respect for beneficiaries and society.

U decembru 2015.

The article concerns film censorship in Poland in the interwar period. The first detailed rules on censorship appeared in February 1919. Due to the small level of film production, these provisions related primarily to distribution and screenings. The detailed instructions for censors from 1920 cited in the text contain a long list of prohibitions concerning the presentation of scenes and images “contrary to law and public morality.” In practice, film was subject to political, moral, military, religious, and also artistic censorship. The article presents the ways to circumvent censorship guidelines used by distributors and cinema owners, as well as a critical evaluation of the activities of this institution in the eyes of film publicists.

The text concentrates on the problem of the ideologization of artistic transmission and uses Wojciech Smarzowski film ‘Rose’ as an example. This problem is considered both on several levels: reception, above all the critical-film level, and also on the level of the work itself. The analysis reveals the impoverishment of the message by radical left-wing and also conservative ideologization is becoming apparent. Also a susceptibility of work to discourse of the political correctness is becoming apparent, in addition it is rather superficial susceptibility.

Marek Hendrykowskis analytical study concentrates on deep semantic structure and the social context of the news fabricated by media. Fake news is considered a functional expression of various prejudices, biases, stereotypes and emotions circulating in the common consciousness of contemporary society. When peoples emotions are intense, the impact of fictitious news is stronger and rational knowledge transmission is poorly explored. The critical reactions of an individual viewer are seen as being particularly important to anticipatory regulation. The functional definition of “fake news” presented by the author provides a useful framework for organizing observations and interdisciplinary studies on this phenomenon.
