Groups are generally considered to be more effective as compared to single individuals. The practical implementation of Operation Research methods in group negotiations needs simple contexts and clear cause-and-effect relationships easily discernible by everyone. This paper proposes a multi-criteria group decision-making approach allowing decision makers/experts involved in a negotiation process to better express and defend their preferences in the selection of the best alternative. In the proposed approach, the most appropriate alternative is the alternative with the largest number of appearances in the first position or in ranking lists, or the one determined based on negotiations of decision makers/experts. The proposed ARCAS approach is based on the use of the ARAS method, a new normalization procedure, and the SWARA method. In the proposed approach, each decision maker/expert involved in evaluation has an opportunity to set the preferred level of rating for each criterion used in such evaluation. Finally, a case study is presented in order to highlight the proposed approach. The obtained results confirm the usability and efficiency of the proposed approach.

Current and past economic and financial crises have changed the behaviour of business leaders, managers, and investors, as well as accounting professionals (financial accountants, bookkeepers, management accountants, auditors). The fear of further financial crises has forced accounting reforms, the revision of auditing standards, and a restructuring of corporate governance systems in many countries to provide a reliable framework for companies’ activities and performance. The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) board founded the International Ethics Standard Board for Accountants (IESBA), which issued the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (IFAC Code) as a set of globally accepted guidelines for ethical conduct. The first version was published in 1990, and it was recommended (but not mandatory) for IFAC members to adopt. Establishing a unified code of ethics was one of the major achievements of IFAC that provided solid guidelines for accounting professionals across the world. Prior research indicates that the IFAC Code has been moderately successful in the attempt to harmonise ethics standards for professional accountants worldwide. As globalisation continues to affect business culture and technology, and, consequently, the focus of business, the accounting profession must keep pace and reassess its role in the world economy, but also in society. This is especially important during economic and financial crises, when the classic entrepreneurial model is not sustainable. Not only can a code of ethics can provide a framework for appropriate employee behaviour and establish a better corporate culture, it can also improve leadership, help organisations to comply with government guidelines, and enable organisations to be more socially responsible. Many ethical issues could be explored in the context of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), not only in times of crisis. The high-profile ethical failures of professional accountants in recent decades taught us the importance of ethics education. A professional accountant’s responsibility is not exclusively to satisfy the needs of an individual client or employing organization. All accountants should act in the public interest by complying with fundamental ethical principles (integrity, objectivity, professional competence and due care, confidentiality, and professional behaviour) since these principles establish the standard of expected behaviour. Therefore, accounting ethics should be promoted much more in education and in practice. Accounting and business educators have a special responsibility to examine and teach ethics in the broader context of globalisation. Regulations and voluntary standards aim at minimizing fraud and manipulation of business information, but ethical behaviour is the key to achieving an honest business environment and sustainable growth.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence levels and problem-solving skills of pre-school teachers. The secondary aim of this study is to examine the emotional intelligence levels and problem-solving skills of pre-school teachers in terms of various variables. Study; Emotional Intelligence Inventory and Interpersonal Problem-Solving Scale were used. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed by SPSS program. Kolmogorov-smirnov normality test, t-test for independent samples Mann-Whitney U test one-way analysis of variance (Anova), Kruskal Wallis-H test and simple correlation analysis were performed. In the results of working; It was concluded that preschool teachers had a low average score in terms of emotional intelligence. When it is thought that emotional intelligence can be developed over time, it is necessary to provide preschool teachers with in-service training on this subject; It was assumed that preschool teachers who develop emotional intelligence can be provided to preschool children to provide education to develop emotional intelligence. Another result was found to be a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and problem solving, albeit low. Considering that there is a certain proportion of emotional intelligence in increasing the success in problem solving, it is assumed that the inclusion of emotional intelligence in educational processes will have positive results in problem solving.

Teacher competencies are expressed as the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that teachers should have in order to fulfill their profession effectively and efficiently. Achieving the desired goals in education is considered to be related to the competencies and qualifications of teachers, and it is emphasized that innovations can only be carried out through teachers. Examining teacher competencies will contribute to ensure that competencies are used in many areas. Accordingly, the aim of the study is to examine the General Competencies for Teaching Profession, which has been updated after a long time. The study was carried out by adopting a qualitative research model. The data collection was carried out through document analysis. Documents obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique. It was concluded that competency areas, sub-competencies, and competency indicators were simplified. Competency indicators are not structured to be tangible, observable, and measurable. Rational and optimum competencies can play a role to reveal the professional development needs of teachers. Similarly, preparing the performance/competency indicators in a way to ensure the development of teachers and using these indicators realistically in the evaluation will benefit the increase of teacher quality. It can be proposed to be structured to use as both a guide and an evaluation criterion for teachers and prospective teachers.

The purpose of the current study was to explore the questions staged by an early childhood teacher during in-class teaching processes by a contextual and implementation-based manner. The participants of the study were an early childhood educator and 16 children (60-72 months). In-class implementations were video-recorded and analysed through systematic observation approach as a branch of sociocultural discourse analysis. Through a data-based and theoryladen coding catalogue (Teacher Questions Coding Catalogue), teacher-led questions were labelled in seconds and/or minutes intervals. The discursive functions of the teacher-led questions were gathered around seven categories and 28 sub-categories: communicating questions, monitoring (framing) questions, legitimating questions, challenging questions, evidencing questions, observe-compare-predict questions, and inferencing (deducing) questions. In addition, it was observed that the typologies and proportions of the enacted questions were moderately or substantially affected by the differences between the students' everyday social languages that were brought to the classroom environment by the learners and the social language of the school science that the teacher tried to take the pupils. It was also concluded thematically-oriented specifications of the contents under negotiation during the in-class implementations seemed to change the types and proportions of the teacher-led questions. Various educational recommendations were offered for the professional development of preschool teachers, especially in the context of teacher noticing.
