The preservation of Bulgarian identity is an urgent inevitability caused by the realities of today, therefore the development of the proposal of the Literature syllabus for the Bulgarian schools abroad (Year 9 – 12) is a successful way of dealing with this issue. The contemporary education of Literature conformable to the new proposals of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education regarding some changes in the Literature syllabus (Year 9 – 12) guaranties for full value of education on the subject and coordinates the global connections of the Bulgarian middle school education in our country and abroad. The aim of this article is to present a proposal for adaptation of the syllabus for the Bulgarian secondary schools abroad as well as a relevant system and criteria regarding today’s teaching and learning methods and results in the fields of various competencies, achieved by the pupils after finishing their final educational levels at the end of every year during the secondary part of their education.

The text offers a typological model of questions and tasks with a receptive nature as well as the options for their construction. The model is based on the dependencies between information, that is text and the reader on one hand, and their understanding of the information on the other. The analysis of these dependencies gives the opportunity to construct a theoretical model that represents the complex and multi-layered connections between the information within the text and its representation (or lack thereof) in the language and the cognitive processes that accompany the interpretation of text during reading.

In this text-experiment I will try to think in a new direction the proximity of illustricture with the figurology of Boyan Manchev. Illustricture is a dynamic mode of work of the introduced here concept figure-form (dynamized form), through which it becomes understandable why and how a figurative potentiality can evolve to a conceptual opportunity. Figurativеness can also be thought as one unlocking its own field of potentiality and self-actualizing forceful virtuality. The non-classical hypothesis of that experiment is: the being’s act of affirmation of linguistic meanings illustricturatively creates (unpredictable) essences, as long as it contains within itself repetitive structure charged with deviation.

The practical models for parental mutual assistance, which are gaining popularity in Bulgaria recent years, are considered in this article. The interest towards this theme was provoked by the alternative possibilities that these models could represent towards formal educational institutions. The models for parental assistance provoke a new kind of thinking, an attitude and behavior towards problems of children’s education, that are based on values and personal responsibility.

The paper presents game-like elements suitable for the realization of a gamified e-course and their representation as components in the e-learning environment Moodle. An example of the design of a gamified e-learning course in Moodle is shown. The paper contains comparison charts for the assessment of the course participants. Feedback of the effectiveness of certain aspects of the gamified e-course is collected by a survey.

Two classes of curves of (n+1)-th degree (n E N) e are obtained in the plane of a given triangle in connection with the generalization of a problem on locus determination. What are described are the common points of those curves and two regular polygons determined by the points of intersection of the curves and the circumcircle of the triangle.

The present paper considers an application of the triangle inequality to integer triangles. Formulae are found for their number in the cases of equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles. The formulae give opportunities for quick problem solving in regular math classes at school as well as at the level of competitions.

Making mistakes is a crucial part of human learning. Together with mistakes, misjudgements, miscalculations and wrong assumptions are indispensable aspects of learning skills and acquiring information. The mistakes one makes are gradually reduced as one learns from those mistakes. The provision of feedback from the environment facilitates the eventual learning. In this respect, language learning is no exception. The points of departure for the present study was to see whether the basic options and features in one such model (Long cited in Allwright and Bailey, 1991) were viable modes of error correction in the classroom. A questionnaire was prepared based on Long’s model in an attempt to see if the same decision-making process was followed by teachers in actual learning situations. Likewise, a similar study was also prepared to have an insight into the students’ perspective on error correction. The results of the present study (teachers’ responses in particular) tend to confirm the viability of Long’s model. In conclusion, it has been revealed that it is the teachers’ task to value their students’ attempts to improve themselves on the interlanguage continuum, be sensitive and receptive to their linguistic output and try his/her best to utilize the optimum way of dealing with their errors.

The goal of the article is to reveal the extent of RSCI reflection of the Bulgarian publications/references in two aspects: the Bulgarian-language articles and the Bulgarian-language books. The comparative analysis was used in the study. It has been established that the Cyrillic alphabet and the Bulgarian language is not an obstacle to Russian Science Citation Index; it successfully indexes publications/references in Bulgarian. This fact indicates that Russian Science Citation Index is able to give an effective contribution to refine results of Bulgarian academic organizations ranking.

The development of electronic tests and exercises is part of the didactic test theory. Tests can be successfully applied across all disciplines to determine the entry level, to verify and control the learning contents, and to report outcomes at the end of the training period. The “Hot Potatoes” program offers the opportunity to use several didactic models: JQuiz – JakeCuiz, JCloze – JackClose, CrossJackros, JMix – JayMix, JMatch – JeMech. The use of the program is fully in line with the contemporary understanding of didactic tests for learning purposes. The logical arrangement of the exercises is in compliance with the curriculum and based on the chronological principle. The electronic exercises of the “Hot Potatoes” program are used for revision exercises, homework assignments, error correction, performance comparison and more.

The purpose of this article is to summarize what has been achievedover the past 100 years in the field of reconstruction of the system of the Indo-European mood and to present the most probable origin and development of moods in the contemporary Indo-European languages. As methodological basis of the comparative-historical approach was used the theoryof Bybee et al. (1994) for the diachronic development of modal systems from agent-oriented modality through speaking-oriented or epistemic to subordinate modality. This focus on the purpose and the subject of the study allows the authors to conclude that in the Indo-European proto-language we are already observing a state of speaker-oriented modality and that the transition from speaker-oriented to subordinate modality with the syntactic and optative functions of the subjunctive is in fact the result of the change of the linguistic type of the Indo-European languages from active to nominative. Still, though in modern IE languages the predominant modal system is the subordinate one, the speaker-oriented roots of this subordination can be traced back to a number of phenomena such as the cupitive functions of the subjunctive, some injunctive forms of the imperative, the modal uses of the future, of the past tense and the conditional, and many others.
