The paper presents aspects of the customs and traditions of the Almaj Valley, some of them well preserved even today. The paper also refers to the "milling" site from Rudăria, now Eftimie Murgu, which has a history of over 150 years.This analysis is part of the research of authors in the area that spanned a period of 3 years, and has materialized, in addition to research reports and scientific papers with a book called "Almaj of yesterday, today and tomorrow”, this being a synthesis of all the elements of history, population, culture, language, economy, agriculture and sustainable rural development of the area. The results allow us to say that Almaj, a welldefined geographical, historical and administrative entity, has a rich history, but today, the culture and art of Almaj, as well as everything that means tradition and patriarchal life in the area, is, unfortunately,in a state of languishing, is in oblivion.
