Summary/Abstract: Fine observer of Romanian political scene, William Arthur White (1824-1891, extraordinary and plenipotentiary envoy of Great Britain between 1878-1884, fill his reports to Foreign Office with various developments of Romanian political life, in the new context, as independent state and, from 1881, as Kingdom; there are highlighted the difficulties of the relations with Austro-Hungary Empire, Carol I visit to Berlin (August 1883) and Romanian adhesion to the Central Powers alliance; the Ion C. Brătianu government problems, especially the coalisation of the opposition and, also, the process of the Constitution and Electoral Law revisal.
