Summary/Abstract: Rooted in the ancient eastern religions, the belief in the regeneration of the soul owes its existence to some spiritual experiences, among which love in all its forms. Divine or human, love gives birth to the lover who is already dead in his loneliness. This concept was added later to the literature and became one of the most interesting literary themes. The French literature offers various examples of this theme. The poetry of Paul Eluard, a surreal poet of the twentieth century, is one of the best examples. In the imaginary universe of Eluard, the theme of the Renaissance is linked to love for the beloved woman. Such love is therefore more than a human passion; it is a talisman that changes the lover’s universe. The generating power of love is carried out by the beloved woman who, endowed with the divine power to create, appears as a superhuman being or a true powerful goddess. Divinized, she gives life to the lover’s world and transforms the winter of the loneliness into the spring of the Union. The purpose of this article is the study the impact of love on the regeneration of the soul through the poetry of Paul Eluard.
