Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the intertextual connection between the biblical Book of Job and Hunt for Wolves by Ivaylo Petrov. The text interprets the image of Kiro Djelebov, who is a key character in the novel. The pragmatism of his religiosity is the reason for the rejection of faith in God. The logic by which the text of the novel implicitly compares Christianity and communism on the basis of a tyrannical attitude towards man has been analyzed analyzed. This comparison is placed in the context of comparisons of similarity and antithesis, which are important for the history of ideas in the European culture of the 20th century. The study leads to the conclusion that Job situation is necessary for the murder of StoyanKralev to acquire in the narrative the meaning not of an ordinary revenge, but of an existential rebellion against the evil in the world.
