Economic development - a way to solve the problems in the Black Sea region

Summary/Abstract: The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) has developed itself into a regional economic organization with a broad and comprehensive institutional basis. It is believed that although BSEC may not deal directly with purely political issues, the nature of economic cooperation itself is likely to create a framework conducive to more stability and security. Its members share a common vision of their regional cooperation as” a part of the integration process in Europe, based on human rights and fundamental freedoms, prosperity through economic liberty, social justice and equal security and stability, which is open for interaction with other countries, regional initiatives and international organizations and financial institutions”. This regional platform creates the sustainable conditions for countries with different cultural identity and past or current unresolved political issues and confrontations to be united under the common regional economic cooperation.
