Summary/Abstract: The main objects of observation in the study are the services for Saint Clement of Rome and St Ephrem the Syrian in manuscript №99 from the RGADA (Russian State Archive of Early Acts). The two texts are exceptionally close in terms of content but as for the moment it is difficult to say which one is primary. A comparison is made between the individual liturgical elements (stichiry, troparia etc.) and proof is given of the assumptions who the compilers/translators of the two Slavonic services are. The article considers the devices used (not only in the literary sense but also in the culturological sense) for the intertextual borrowing, and for other elements and phenomenon, concerning the acrostic text as well as its architectonics.
