Summary/Abstract: The author provides information on the “Programme 68” project which makes available on the Czech TV website records of a number of programmes that had been broadcast by Czechoslovak TV in 1968, including political journalism and reporting. The project was put together by the historians and television archivists Jakub Adamus and Jakub Hošek and is available under the title “TV programme 1968” on the website https://www.ceskatelevize.cz/specialy/totostoleti/program-68#/. The author draws attention to some note worthy programmes in which important public figures of the time come to life and points to the authentic visual atmosphere of the debates, interviews and events that cannot be drawn from the published written documents. According to the author, “Programme 68” represents a unique source that historians should not omit from their research. While not changing the basic knowledge about Prague Spring 1968, it does bring to the fore a number of interesting details which may encourage new perspectives on this still inspiring period of Czechoslovak history.
