Summary/Abstract: "The article presents the International Tandem Project, awarded in this year’s edition of the European Language Label of the National Agency of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps. The author, who is also one of the coordinators, presents the genesis of the project, didactic and non-didactic objectives, the methodology of activities, the implementation of tasks, and additional factors which have long since made the Tandem Project popular among Polish and German students. The combination of an intensive language course and working with a tandem partner inorder to complete specific tasks is an effective form of language communication. The project provides an example of intensive international cooperation between academic centres teaching foreign languages."
