Summary/Abstract: Commander Constantin Niculescu-Rizea was involved in the War of Integration from the very beginning, through actions against enemy ships on the Danube. He supported Turtucaia and the bridge at Flămânda, mined the Danube, and sank more than 250 ships. He stood out as a good organizer (December 1916 - January 1918), then defended Galați from the attack of the Bolshevik Russian soldiers (January 1918). His memoir of April 1918 highlights all these activities, which contributed to his advancement, culminating in the Navy's leadership (1920-1925).
