Summary/Abstract: We focused in this paper on different cases of terms that are differently stressed in the popular aspect of our language in comparison to literary language. There are various linguistic explanations for these situations. Thus, we have fluctuation in the literary language (creating the so-called free stressed variants); the influence of different languages such as Hungarian and German; the proximity of different neologisms to their original base; the phonetic adaptation of the neologism to the popular aspect of the language. Some of the changes are frequently registered, while others are not.
