Summary/Abstract: In its completeness, Octavian Goga's poetry is a symbolic and allegorical poetry, a poetry of lamentation and rebellion, with an eclectic mark, but also with liturgical inflections, ritualized in a mourning of metaphysical agreements. Through an ellegiac-Messianic scenography, as well as through an innovative prosody, Goga marked an important moment in the evolution of Romanian poetry, by form of lyricism that brings together Metaphysics and History, represented in a monographic pattern. Goga's verb has resonances of mourning, but also echoes heroic heroes, being born from mourning and rebellion, but also from the revelations of Messianism, of trust in a future able to put behind the passions.
